There are 26 comments on Scientists Study People Who Never Had COVID

  1. I am a NOVID. I was somehow able to avoid ever catching it, but I had every vaccine and booster offered, avoided large crowded places, exercised outdoors, and something I think helped: I swam laps every day in a chlorinated pool, and I was usually the only one swimming. Lots of chlorine in my nasal passages, maybe?

    1. I was a NOVID until January 2025. I had major multilevel spinal fusion surgery. I had respiratory failure, non Covid Pneumonia and Atrial Fibrillation. Then I caught Covid 19 in the hospital. I am sure my immune system was down. I am a 68 year old female. Fully vaccinated from Covid 19. I was treated with steroids and antivirals and had no complications. Immune system was down.

  2. I am also a NOVID, I got the two vaccines required by the government and one booster did not get any others after that.
Took care of my daughter, her husband and child while they had Covid and I did not mask in 2020 before I was vaccinated. Wore mask when I had to, but I don’t like mass they make me anxious.
I am not an anti-VAX her. I just don’t get vaccines because I don’t get sick. Haven’t had a cold or a flu in decades and I’m in my late 60s.

  3. I have never had Covid. I must admit I did all of the wrong things I think due to my Age (21.) I worked at an amusement park the summer of 2020 and then at a dentist office as an assistant for the fall into 2021. The entire staff came down with Covid a few months into my hiring, well everyone except me. I think that’s when I realized I must have some sort of immunity or at least asymptomatic.. who knows!

  4. I have never had Covid. Multiple people around me have had it 2-3 times. I’ve never tested positive. I am not vaccinated against any disease. I never masked up and I work in close proximity to people. I am vegan, practice yoga and Pilates, don’t drink, smoke, or even take aspirin because I never headaches. I haven’t had a cold in years.

    1. MO MU: Wow, me too! We are rare gems…nice to know there are others out there like me! And I was tested every 2 weeks as was required for my work since I refused the vaccine, so I KNOW I’ve never had it.

    2. My husband had covid while away and said it as just an iratating ich in his throat. While he was away myself and are 2 kids were exposed several times. One of my neighbors gave me a hug and then told me she had covid. However the kids and I never got it. I ended up with sever walking Pneumonia and was tested for it but the test came back negative for covid. All my coworkers have had at least once some as many as 5 times, I guess ew are just lucky.

  5. My children and I have not had COVID that we know of. We have gotten sick a few times and tested neg for covid. My husband and step children have all had it a couple times each. I rarely wore a mask unless I absolutely had to and went to Disney in the height of the pandemic. (so I did not shy away from public places). I did get the vaccine because my work made me and had a stroke 2 weeks after getting my 2nd shot. (at 40 years old). My son and I often joke about being immune, I guess it might be a real thing!

  6. I’m in my early 60’s, smoke, casual drinker. I literally tried to get covid 19 as I am a firm believer in natural immunity. Had a government job and was threatened with termination until I dared them to make me a wealthy woman. HR told them they could not terminate me for refusing to take the 19 vaccination. Never got covid, tested regularly, not even a cold. Like I said, I TRIED TO GET IT. No luck. Only wore a mask when absolutely necessary, such as a hospital….Took alot of abuse from people wearing multiple masks long after the recommendation was lifted.

  7. I have never tested positive for COVID. I have never had a vaccination. Many members of my family had it 3x. I wore mask, used sanitizer, washed my hands well(still do)disinfectant my condo when I went out and back in. Avoided indoor crowds and or wore a mask. I still avoid indoor “crowds” without a mask but sometimes I forget or feel weird about it. I still spray some disinfectant when I have someone visit. I had no flu shot and no flu yet. One illness as far as a cold, respiratory but tested negative. Tested when I had bad allergies just in case, negative. Was in hospital and nursing staff were not good at wearing masks. I discharged early.

  8. To our knowledge, my 68 year old partner and I (63) have never had covid. We’ve had all boosters. We’ve had a cold here and there, tested for COVID, and always negative. We aren’t hermits, but we’re still careful. We’ve flown on long-haul flights (masked), eaten in restaurants but not frequently, attended large gatherings (unmasked). I’ve gone to the movies and seen a play or two (masked). I believe we haven’t gotten covid because we remain vigilant. It’s not a burden to do so. I am currently travelling in the UK and am not masking. Eventually our luck will probably run out.

  9. I hadn’t had COVID until a week ago. I masked up pretty religiously inside. Though I did eat inside with a mask on and lowered it to eat and drink. Bad luck as I was in China and it cut the visit short.

I have also traveled during the COVID to France several times, Guatemala, Columbia, the country of Georgia, NYC, Turk, Socotra, and Madagascar all without getting ill. Sad to have to finally get it.

  10. I only started researching today, finding out I am (or might be) a Novid person. When the pandemic happened, my youngest and I avoided covid, though the other members of the house caught it. Recently, my whole family (4 other people in the house) got sick, and I thought to test my youngest for covid. Positive. The other 3 people in the house tested positive also. I tested twice the other day and once today to triple check…negative. I’ve gotten the vaccines and the boosters…as has everyone in my house. I’m glad to not have ever gotten it, but will admit it’s weird being the only well person at home. Makes it easier to care for them as they need it,I suppose :)

  11. I’ve also never had Covid. I believe it’s because I’ve had every vaccine and booster available, my last one being earlier this month, May of 2025. Early on, I wore a mask every time I would mingle with the general public. I’ve had autoimmune disease since I was about 16 years old, I’m currently 68 and now have 5 or 6 autoimmune diseases. Having autoimmune diseases has made me more aware of my health, in general, I have consistently gotten flu vaccines for the last 30 years, because I’ve needed to see doctors more frequently, coupled with my autoimmune diseases, I have no fears or objections to doctors, and am very proactive in staying as healthy as I can, with my health problems. I have had heart disease issues for the last 20 years, I have RA, arthritis, rosacea, hypothyroidism, psoriasis, diabetes, and quite possibly one or more autoimmune related diseases. All I can say is that I have a very positive attitude and, believe it or not, according to my cardiologist, a very strong heart, and that’s after 2 heart attacks, 6 stents and a quadruple artery bypass. I just keep on ticking, like a watch that’s had a few repairs.

    1. Hi Andy. That is truly remarkable. Great attitude. You’re maybe a Rolex Happy to read your post, you sound like you have a great heart and I wish you the best managing your ongoing health challenges!

  12. My husband and I both over 70 have not contracted COVID. We have kept up with vaccinations. He got Prizer no side effects l got Moderna which knocked me out (extreme fatigue,low-grade fever, mild stomach upset, occasionally a mild headache and general malaise for a day and a half each injection. We wore masks early on taking this virus seriously, unable to grasp how many didn’t. We traveled by air multiple times wearing masks some of the time also when in groups or medical settings. We have friends in our age group and younger like millennials who are fully vaccinated and who have had multiple infections. His children and their spouses and children as well as his former spouse have had it too. It is curious that we have managed to avoid it.

  13. I have never had COVID and I live with my grand daughter full time. Due to my age & her attending elementary school I have received the recommended vaccinations. All of our family members have contracted COVID several times. There may be some benefit to my having “O” blood type versus the family having “AB”.

  14. I have never had Covid – only masked if absolutely had to and didn’t avoid people. Got the 2 Pfizer shots and one booster. My husband had it, but I never got it. I am 67 and he is 69 and with heart issues, but he just got it like a bad cold, not a big issue.

  15. I am Novid. So is my daughter. When covid first came out I did get a covid shot. I also wore a mask and observed the recommended distancing suggestions. I did avoid large gatherings of people, but otherwise went about my life. I continued to see friends, work and go out. I did get my second shot. I have not gotten any subsequent shots. I am also blood type O. I have numerous friends and relatives who have gotten Covid multiple times. I know that this is anecdotal, but I believe that my intake of a robust dosage of vitamin D3 along with the necessary cofactors contributed to my not getting covid. I had been taking at least 10,000 IU of D3 with K2 and magnesium for many years prior to the Covid pandemic. I continue to take D3, K2 and Magnesium along with a few other vitamins.

  16. im a novid. I was 29 when covid happened, and now I’m 34. I’m vaccinated. Until now I’ve Never gotten it…im not super unhealthy or super healthy. I do get colds but for some reason I just don’t test positive for Covid. I don’t mask, quarantine, I take public transport every day and I work in an office full of people. Throughout the last 5 years, my whole family of in-laws I lived with + my husband has gotten covid twice now, and I still haven’t gotten it once. I test every time too.

Not really sure why. Don’t really have a good reason. I wouldn’t call it luck, since I just gave up and drank from the same cup as my husband when he got it. (I assumed that I would get it too so I just gave up on stopping it.)

But it still didn’t come. I dunno. I guess I’m immune.

  17. I am 77 and have received every vaccine for Covid 19 from the beginning. I tested a couple of times once in 2020 and in 2025when i was ill but not positive for Covid. My mother never got any vaccines. She lived alone in a senior apt complex so had little exposure and passed in Jan 2024 (age 98). I wear a mask only during flu season now. Nearly everyone i know friends, neighbors, family has had it at least once. I feel fortunate.

  18. Neither my husband nor I have had covid that we know of. We both will be 84 soon and have had all the vaccines recommended as well as regular flu shots.. when I was in my mid twenties I had numerous shots and vaccines in preparation for livinginTurkey as well as typhus or typhoid shots while living there because of outbreaks there. My husband was born in 1941 in Germany and lived in rather rough conditions for many years during and after the war. Is any of that relevant?

  19. Hello.. I am wondering if this is an ongoing study.. i don’t know what I am, but I was never vaccinated.. I worked as both a sanitizer and cleaned Airbnb’s out in Florida .. I also worked in a high traffic area..

I was a science major and I wasn’t someone who either wore a mask.. I don’t use hand sanitizers so forth.

I was taught that the body needs germs to build a strong immune system. I have been vegan/gf for nearly a decade.
Had the flu twice in my life and I’m 51. In 13 years, I’ve had a cold maybe twice.

During the height of COVID, I worked in public at 5’5, 88 lbs.

Due to my size and age, as well as someone who had lifelong respiratory problems, I was at high risk..

I think it was a combination of my diet and possibly my rare blood type..

I live in mass now and would love to participate in the research program .
It is July of 25… I found this bc I noticed people masking and o wondered how rare it was 5 years in to not have contracted the virus

  20. I’m a Novid as well (as are my husband and daughter); none of us have received any Covid vaccines; none of us have been sick in the last 5 years or had Covid (that we know of). Specifically, I am part of a clinical trial where I had my blood tested three times for Covid antibodies and all of my results came back negative (no Covid antibodies in my blood were found).

All of our direct family (parents, in-laws, cousins, aunts and uncles) have been vaccinated and boosted—they have all had Covid at least once (some several times).

The three of us only masked when absolutely necessary/demanded; did not use antibacterial soap (this made no sense for a virus). Both my husband and I have science degrees (biology and engineer): I work in pharma and he works in water treatment.

Would love to be in a clinical trial to figure out why none of us had Covid (husband and daughter are both O+; my blood type is A-; I’m also CMV-).

  21. I am aged 50 and live in Brisbane, Australia, in a quiet neighborhood just 3 kilometers from downtown. I work in a large office downtown in an open plan environment two days a week, and work from home three days a week. We have around 164 staff in my office and we are not permitted to attend the office if we are unwell with respiratory symptoms. I have never had Covid, despite having been tested many times whenever I have had a cold and also when travelling interstate in 2020 and 2021 and overseas since 2022. I do not have my own children, but I have four nieces and two nephews with the youngest being just 9 months. My youngest sister’s daughter (5) and son (3) had Covid in January this year for the second time. I had played with them and hugged them the day before and the morning of the day they tested positive and still didn’t catch Covid. I have been vaccinated against flu and Covid, and have the recommended boosters, most recently in May 2025. I am careful with hand washing and using hand sanitizer, particularly in the winter months. I usually get 2 – 3 colds each year, but I have only had the flu twice, once when I was in high school and once at university. I am B negative blood type and wonder if that is part of the reason I have never contracted Covid. All of my friends and family have had Covid at least once, and some have had it two or three times. I know just one person in my Division at work who has never had Covid.

  22. My whole family, my elder parents, my 2 older brothers and me have never gotten infected with Covid 19. Whole family took the vaccinations, from different manufacturers, whole family took the booster shot as well. However, my sister in law and my husband got infected with Covid 19 respectively, both got vaccinated and booster shots too. My brother shared the same bedroom while his wife was infected. I was with my husband when he first got infected, unknowingly to both of us at the time. But somehow my older brother and me both did not catch the Covid 19 from our spouses. Its 2025 now and I still wonder if my family might be carrying antibodies and that could be the reason why thankfully, we have never gotten infected with the Covid 19 virus.
