PR students help to refurbish local Boys and Girls Club today

Students in the College of Communication will visit the West End House Boys and Girls Club today to donate books, games, art supplies, and other educational materials for the center’s recreation room.
The BU students — all enrolled in the community relations course that is part of the graduate program in mass communication and public relations — aim to fulfill the center’s wish list of games and supplies to improve the overall quality of the club. So far, they have raised more than $2,000 from local donors such as Best Buy, Walgreens, and Stop & Shop to refurbish the recreation room.
”We chose the West End House in Allston because of its location and its energetic atmosphere,” says Perri Miologos (COM’08). “Allston is a neighbor of BU’s, and we felt it was important to give back to our community. We really felt a connection with the organization, its mission, and its members.”
Today’s event begins at 3 p.m. at the West End House, 105 Allston St., Allston. For more information, contact Amanda Sabatelle (COM’08) at 908-672-4816.
