Running This Year’s Boston Marathon to Help Others? We’d Like to Hear from You
Tell us the charity you’re running to support, and why
One of the biggest athletics events of the year is just around the corner—the running of the 130th Boston Marathon on Monday, April 20. This year’s race is expected to draw about 30,000 athletes from around the globe.
Each year, a number of runners, including several members of the Boston University community, enter the race to run in support of one of the nonprofits approved by the Boston Athletic Association, the race organizer. This year, some 193 nonprofit organizations are on the list. Last year’s marathon runners raised $50.4 million to support philanthropic causes.
Are you one of the runners entering the race to help support a local nonprofit? If so, we’d like to hear from you for a story we’re putting together to run April 17.
Simply fill out the form below. Be sure to include your name and contact information, and if you’re a student or an alum, your school and grad year. If you’re a faculty or staff member, include your title. Tell us a little about yourself and the organization you’re running to raise money for and why you chose it.
The deadline for submitting your form is Thursday, March 19. We’re aiming to include as many individuals as possible.
We are no longer accepting messages for this project.
