This Weekend @ BU: February 26 to March 1
The weather this winter has certainly been rough, Terriers—but at least you got to enjoy some snow days! Here’s how to make the most of this (hopefully snow-free) weekend.
Crafts & Connection
Student Health Services is hosting a drop-in crafting workshop for students to de-stress and self-connect through creative expression. There will be various prompts for students to follow and all materials will be provided. No prior art or crafting experience is required. Students do not need to register in advance.
Thursday, February 26, 3 to 4 pm, Howard Thurman Center for Common Ground, 808 Commonwealth Ave.
Landscapes Near Me
BU Art Galleries is showcasing an exhibition of Landscapes Near Me by artist Richard Raiselis, a retrospective featuring vivid paintings he created over three decades. The work explores light, weather, and atmosphere and captures the sensory experience of Boston landscapes. The paintings were done in university studios, from high-floor city views, and in Raiselis’ home.
Tuesday through Saturday through March 6, 11 am to 5 pm, 808 Gallery, 808 Commonwealth Ave.
Boston University Men’s Hockey vs Boston College
The Boston University men’s hockey team will face off against Comm Ave rival Boston College at Agganis Arena. Get ready for a roaring crowd, a sea of Terrier red in the stands, and plenty of energy from puck drop to the final buzzer. There will also be a rally towel giveaway.
Friday, February 27, 7 to 10 pm, Agganis Arena, 925 Commonwealth Ave.
Bridgerton Bolero Ballroom Social
Join the BU Dancesport Club for the Bridgerton Bolero, a fun, noncompetitive ballroom social. Dancers can learn new moves, practice their skills, and have fun! The event also allows members to socialize and meet dancers from around the Boston area.
Friday, February 27, 7 to 10 pm, Sargent Activities Center Gym, One University Road.
Appleton Farms Maple Walk
Join the BU Outdoor Programs on a visit to the historic maple stand and sugar shack at Appleton Farms. Attendees can learn all about maple sugaring and trace its roots back to New England. The trip will conclude at the sugar shack, where attendees can see how collected sap is turned into maple syrup—and have a taste. Transportation will be provided from the BU Fitness & Recreation Center.
Sunday, March 1, 11 am to 4:30 pm, Appleton Farms, Ipswich, Mass.; FitRec members, $30; nonmembers $35.
