What has surprised you the most about BU?
I didn’t expect the culture here to be so welcoming and the people here to be so uniquely skilled and passionate about a wide variety of subjects and issues. It makes me feel at home to meet so many individuals so similarly motivated to myself. I find it easy to think back on ideas or innovations I previously thought to be too far fetched and bring it into reality with the help of the many wonderfully talented people I’ve crossed paths with here!

What are the aspects of BU that you are most proud of/regularly tell your non-BU friends about?
I am most proud of the sheer amount of events and organizations on campus at BU. When I first arrived here, I would spend the entire day from sun up to sun down outside my dorm as there were so many things to do with the welcome week events and all the introductory ice breaker events the 450+ individual organizations were hosting. I found my people here very quickly and I still continue to meet amazing people every day as I work my way into roles where I am on the other side, hosting, planning, and orchestrating the events that so quickly helped me find my place.

What BU traditions do you enjoy?
I had my first (Boston) marathon Monday this year and it has quickly become my favorite tradition! Seeing the entire student body as well as the city come together on such a special day truly made me feel like I belong at BU. While walking the streets I saw almost every person I had met this year at one point or another. It’s a great feeling to be able to walk outside and just enjoy the city knowing everybody else is right there next to you (figuratively, that is). near or far.
