Mark R. Curiel (LAW’02)

Mark R. Curiel is a graduate of Boston University School of Law, where he was a G. Joseph Tauro Scholar and an articles editor for the Public Interest Law Journal.
After law school, Mark began his law career in the Los Angeles office of Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP, where he represented companies in a variety of labor, employment and litigation matters.
Mark currently serves as Vice President, Motion Picture Legal at Paramount Pictures, where he runs all legal aspects of assigned motion picture projects, including: (i) drafting and negotiating rights, writer, actor, director and producer agreements, (ii) working closely with and providing legal advice to creatives, business affairs, physical production and other in-house groups during both development and production and (iii) resolving complex chain of title matters to ensure underlying rights are clear and risks are minimized.
Films on which Mark has worked include “BUMBLEBEE” (2018), “PET SEMATARY” (2019), “SCREAM” (2022) and “TRANSFORMERS: RISE OF THE BEASTS” (2023).
Mark loves movies (of course!), traveling and running, and he lives in Beverly Hills with his wife Ashley and their 8-pound, super-snuggly dog Sven.
