WLL organized their third annual Boston Area Pedagogy Conference (BAPC) with support from BUCH and the Geddes Language Center on March 26, 2021 virtually on Zoom. The conference theme this year was teaching during the pandemic: challenges, solutions, and lessons learned. This year’s keynote speaker was Dr. Hayriye Kayi-Aydar from the University of Arizona and she presented her thought-provoking research and scholarship on Positioning Theory and its implications for  transforming classroom talk in language classrooms. Other conference presentations addressed a range of critical topics in language teaching during and beyond the pandemic, such as inclusive language pedagogy, innovative strategies of remote teaching, and promoting metacognition in foreign language learning. The conference registered excellent participation with language educators and scholars from all over the United States participating in engaging and meaningful conversations around language and culture pedagogy and sharing creative and innovative approaches required to reimagine language teaching in a post-pandemic world.
