Boston University Wheelock College of Education & Human Development offers enrollment in master’s programs to students who apply through our partnership with the University of Bahrain’s Mohamed Jaber Al Ansari College for Teachers (formerly known as Bahrain Teachers College, or BTC). This opportunity provides educators in Bahrain with scholarships to be applied toward BU Wheelock’s Master of Education (EdM) in Educational Leadership & Policy Studies (PreK–12, non-licensure) and the Master of Education (EdM) in Curriculum & Teaching when enrolling as a cohort online.

Enrollment Benefits

All students accepted through the University of Bahrain partnership application process receive a tuition discount toward enrollment in the EdM in Educational Leadership & Policy Studies (PreK–12) and the EdM in Curriculum & Teaching.  You do not have to be a UoB graduate to be eligible to apply for the partnership discount. Application & Admissions Requirements

To participate in the BU Wheelock–University of Bahrain partnership, you must apply to and be accepted into either the EdM in Educational Leadership & Policy Studies (PreK–12) or the EdM in Curriculum & Teaching.

  • Start your application, indicating whether you are applying for the Curriculum & Teaching EdM or the Educational Leadership & Policy Studies (non-licensure) EdM.
  • To receive the scholarship, you must apply through both the University of Bahrain and Boston University. Once you have started your BU application, contact the University of Bahrain and notify them of your application to BU.
  • Prospective students must submit at least one letter of recommendation.
  • You are also eligible for an application fee waiver. Once you start your application, email the Graduate Admissions Office at whegrad@bu.edu with your CAS ID number, which you’ll find in the top right-hand corner of your application, and they will send you information about the application fee waiver. Do not submit an application until you have received an application fee waiver.
