Shameka Coleman is a doctoral candidate in the Educational Leadership & Policy Studies program at Boston University Wheelock College of Education & Human Development. Shameka’s dissertation focuses on the intersection of education, policy, and technology in secondary schools.
Shameka is a dedicated educator deeply committed to fostering inclusive, joyful, and affirming learning environments, authentically partnering with families and communities, and actively advocating for equitable outcomes for all students. In her 13+ years of experience in public education, she has served as a founding teacher, assistant principal, and managing director. In her current role as an education leader, Shameka leads work in student sense of belonging, equity-centered professional development, advocacy, and family and community engagement.
