Rob Martinelle

Lecturer

Dr. Rob Martinelle is a lecturer in Curriculum & Teaching and Social Studies Education at Boston University Wheelock College of Education & Human Development. His research focuses on reflective teaching, social studies education, and the self-study of teacher education practices (S-STEP). As a doctoral student, he was the recipient of BU Wheelock’s inaugural dissertation research grant in 2015.

Prior to his appointment at BU Wheelock, Dr. Martinelle worked as a secondary history teacher in several Boston Public Schools, where he also mentored beginning history teachers as a curriculum coach and supervising practitioner.  For many years, he worked with BU Wheelock Professor Emeritus Philip Tate and, as an adjunct instructor, taught general and social studies methods courses to undergraduate and graduate education majors.
