Dr. Pipier Smith-Mumford is the field director for the EdD program and a master lecturer in the Educational Leadership & Policy Studies department at Boston University Wheelock College of Education & Human Development. Dr. Smith-Mumford also consults with local school administrators and faculties on issues of equity, diversity, and inclusion, in addition to coaching and mentoring newly appointed school administrators through Massachusetts School Administrators Association.

During her 19-year tenure as a principal in Brookline, Mass., Dr. Smith-Mumford facilitated progressive, collaborative education strategies, inclusive of the diverse voices of all who work with children and young people. This included, among several topics, leading staff development in issues of racial equity and the opportunity gap.
