Mitali Temurnikar

Doctoral Student

Mitali Temurnikar is a doctoral student in counseling psychology at Boston University Wheelock College of Education & Human Development and a research assistant at the VOICE (Valuing Openness, Inclusion, and Critical Education) Lab. Her research examines psychological safety in schools, the role of identity in fostering belonging, and strategies to expand equitable access to mental health care through brief, evidence-based interventions. Clinically, her practicum experiences have been in outpatient and inpatient hospital settings under Harvard Medical School–Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and Brown University Health–Bradley Hospital.

Mitali’s work has been published in the Indian Journal of Career and Livelihood Planning and the International Journal of Social Policy & Education. She has presented her research at national and international conferences, including the Society of Vocational Psychology (SVP), Harvard Psychiatry Research, the National Career Development Association (NCDA), the National Association of Student Personnel Administrators (NASPA), and the Comparative and International Education Society (CIES). Mitali also serves on the executive board of the American Psychological Association’s Society of Vocational Psychology. Her work bridges education and psychology to promote inclusive systems that support academic, professional, and emotional well-being.
