Justin Ruiz

Doctoral Student

Justin Ruiz is a doctoral student in the Applied Human Development program at Boston University Wheelock College of Education & Human Development. His research interests involve looking at how children learn from and trust both human and nonhuman sources, with a focus on media and technology. Justin is also interested in thinking about ways to positively utilize technology and artificial intelligence (AI) in educational spaces. He works in the Social Learning Lab with Dr. Kathleen Corriveau as his advisor.

Before starting his doctoral study, Justin worked as a research assistant in the Child Learning and Development Lab at Amherst College, directed by Dr. Carrie Palmquist. He completed an undergraduate honors thesis and presented his findings at the 2024 Cognitive Development Society Biennial Meeting.
