Carla Romney
Director of Research, CityLab
Dr. Carla Romney is the director of research for CityLab, a pre-college biomedical sciences program that develops and implements laboratory-based curriculum supplements that are intended to inspire young people to pursue STEM and health professions careers. As a principal investigator on CityLab’s National Institutes of Health (NIH) Science Education Partnership Award grants, she is responsible for research design and implementation, compliance, and grant budgeting and reporting.
Before CityLab relocated to BU Wheelock, Dr. Romney held the same position at BU Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine. She has also held several faculty and administrative positions on the Charles River Campus and Medical Campus since she came to BU in 2000. Dr. Romney serves as an associate editor of the Journal of STEM Outreach and is a member of the Organizing Committee for the NIH SciEd annual conference.
