
Barbara Krol-Sinclair
Part-Time Instructor
Dr. Barbara Krol-Sinclair is a part-time instructor and a teaching candidate program supervisor at Boston University Wheelock College of Education & Human Development. She serves as a consultant to educational programs, schools, and the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. Dr. Krol-Sinclair is also an adjunct faculty member at the University of New Hampshire’s College of Professional Studies.
Dr. Krol-Sinclair is the former director of adult learning for the Chelsea, Mass., Public Schools, in collaboration with Boston University. Her primary interests include family literacy, effective home–school partnerships, and adult literacy and second-language literacy. Her teaching experience has been in adult, secondary, and elementary education in a variety of schools and community education settings throughout the United States, Honduras, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Dr. Krol-Sinclair has written and cowritten several publications in the area of home–school collaborations, including What Should We Expect of Family Literacy? and Family Literacy: From Theory to Practice.
