Alisa Hunter

Part-time Instructor

Alisa Hunter is a part-time instructor at Boston University Wheelock College of Education & Human Development, where she teaches positive youth development. In the classroom, Ms. Hunter guides students through adolescent developmental systems, social contexts, and evidence-based practices that center equity and cultural responsiveness. She emphasizes applied learning, integrating students’ professional interests into coursework and mentoring students toward practical skill development for work with young people and communities.

Ms. Hunter brings more than 20 years of professional experience in human services, mental health, program development, and school-based partnerships. Her areas of expertise include leadership and staff development, strategic planning, systems and program design, youth development, mental health, and racial equity and cultural sensitivity. As founder of Legacy Coaching & Consulting, LLC, she provides career coaching, organizational consulting, and professional development.

Across her teaching and consulting work, Ms. Hunter is committed to strengthening leadership capacity, advancing equitable systems, and creating inclusive environments where young people and professionals can thrive.
