Research expertise and personal interests: oxidants mediate cellular redox signaling through post-translational modification of protein thiols. My group studies the role of an enzyme glutaredoxin which controls S-glutathionylation (glutathione adducts) in cardiovascular disease, inflammation, and glucose metabolism.

Recently I focus on angiogenesis and hypoxia-induced factor (HIF-1) regulation by glutaredoxin using mouse models. My goal is to develop our study into therapeutic strategy for clinical problems including diabetic ischemic limbs.
