Deerfield
The CAS Writing Program journal, Deerfield, (formerly “WR”), publishes a selection of the best undergraduate writing–in all genres and modes–from BU’s WR classes. The selections aim to represent the varied topics of our courses and provide instructors with a diverse collection of writing to refer to when teaching.
Alexandria
Alexandria, a student-led journal headquartered in BU’s World Languages & Literature department, showcases student work bridging cultural traditions, especially considering the art and literature of underrepresented traditions. Alexandria publishes a range of genres: including academic essays, poetry, art, and creative recipes.
Arché
Arché, a student-led journal of philosophy, publishes exemplary philosophical writing by undergraduate and graduate students from around the world. Edited by BU students, Arché offers a site for writers that bridges writing conducted in college courses and writing composed by professional academic philsophers. Send inquiries to arche@bu.edu.
Emerald Review
Emerald Review , a student-run environmental newspaper focusing on sustainability and the natural world, publishes research articles, reviews, and a zine of environmental poetry, short stories, photographs, and artwork.
International Relations Review
Published bi-annually, the BU International Relations Review challenges readers to engage with underrepresented international issues and to explore detailed insights of the world’s next generation of leaders and future thinkers. Established in 2009, the IRR is an analytical, policy-oriented academic journal.
BU Undergraduate Economics Journal
The BU Undergraduate Economics Journal is a biannual publication that highlights undergraduate research in the Economics Department.
Squinch
Squinch is an art magazine which provides a platform for undergraduates to write about the art world, as well as showcase their own art. Here, you can find editorial reviews of shows and exhibitions, essays that engage with art history, features of local artists, details of art-related current events, and a quarterly showcase of undergraduate student work.
BU Pre-Law Review
BU Pre-Law Review, which publishes in both Fall and Spring semesters, provides commentary on major issues facing the law and legal profession. All interested students are encouraged to learn more about the journal’s work in fostering awareness about the law’s influence on our daily lives.
BPR - Boston Political Review
BPR – Boston Political Review, founded in 2014, publishes news stories informed by academic research. Primarily focusing on political news, BPR also covers health, science, and business news and aims for a non-partisan perspective.
Third Space
Third Space, a new publication from BU’s Undergraduate Sociology Association, welcomes essays, art, short stories, photography, and other visual media that relate in some way to our social world. Submissions are not limited to Sociology majors.
The Daily Free Press
Founded in 1970, The Daily Free Press is the independent student newspaper at BU.
The Beat
The Beat is the student radio’s WTBU zine for all things Music, Art, and DIY.
