Find Out How to Increase Your Funding

If you’re seeking additional funding for an existing Federal Work-Study award, you may submit a request for appeal to the Student Employment Office.

Due to the ongoing federal government shutdown, we are currently unable to process appeals for Federal Work Study award increases. Students planning to submit an appeal should be aware that appeals cannot be processed at this time. Please check this page periodically for updates.

Here’s how it works:

  1. Submit at the right time – Please submit your request when you have a remaining Work-Study balance of four work weeks or less of earnings. For example, a student working 10 hours/week at $15.00/hour should submit an appeal for additional funding once their balance reaches $600.
  2. Submit when actively working – We will only consider appeals if you are actively working in a Work-Study position and will run out of funding before the program end date.
  3. Submit via form – Pending update (Updated Oct 14 2025)

Once we confirm that you have eligibility in your total financial assistance package for additional Federal Work-Study funding, we will review your appeal. We make every effort to respond to all appeal requests as long as funding remains available.
