About Us

Our office works with enrolled degree-seeking students to assist them in their employment endeavors. In doing that, we also work alongside with on-campus supervisors, payroll coordinators, and off-campus employers to ensure the best student employment experience for all parties involved.

Student Job Service

The Student Job Service is a free job listing service open to employers both on campus and throughout the Greater Boston area. Eligible Boston University students can find part-time positions, summer employment, or temporary (Quick) jobs lasting from a few minutes to a few weeks.

Federal Work-Study

Boston University employs over 2,500 students through the Federal Work-Study Program: on campus, in the University’s schools, colleges, and offices; or off campus at nonprofit, incorporated community service organizations.

Student Payroll

The Student Employment Office works closely and in collaboration with the University Payroll Office to ensure BU student employees are paid in an accurate and timely fashion. We maintain personnel and payroll history for student employees, and work closely with the International Students and Scholars Office and Financial Assistance to ensure that all federal and state regulations are met. We also provide employment verification, past and present, for students employed at the University.
