2020: Is It Really Over? Mental Health Impacts of COVID-19
Mental health issues can impair students’ academic success, affecting their motivation, concentration, and social interactions. The major stressors associated with the COVID-19 pandemic have disproportionally affected college students’ mental health. Professor Anne Sullivan-Soydan (Sargent’87, ’99) discusses the specific impacts on these young adults with host and Sargent Alumni Association President Kelly Pesanelli (CGS’94, Sargent’96,’98).
Leading Through Crisis
Presented by Steve Windwer (Sargent’85), President & CEO of Bay State Physical Therapy and hosted by Sargent Alumni Association President and Sargent faculty Kelly Pesanelli (CGS’94, Sargent’96, ’98).
At the outset of the COVID-19 pandemic, Windwer pivoted his private practice from entirely in-person meetings to more than 50 percent telehealth visits within a week. Anyone interested in managing their own businesses, and the challenges inherent in leadership, should watch this insightful talk on how one of Massachusetts’ largest physical therapy companies managed during 2020 and beyond.
Remote Learning Case Study: Gross Anatomy 101
When BU went remote during the spring semester of 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic, instructors had to learn and migrate their content and teaching over to new technology platforms. Because the pandemic continues, BU has offered its students the ability to “Learn from Anywhere” for the 2020-21 academic year, meaning they can either attend classes in person or via their computer. If you have been wondering about how Sargent faculty achieved this, we invite you join Metcalf Award winning Sargent professor Liz Co, who talks with SCAA President and fellow Sargent faculty member Kelly Pesanelli (CGS’94, Sargent’96, ’98) to see just how Liz does it. We figure if you can migrate Gross Anatomy to a virtual platform, you can do anything!
