The Team Behind the Institute

Fred Foulkes and Siobhan O’Mahony were named Interim Co-Directors of the Institute in June 2026. 

Fred Foulkes is Professor Emeritus at Boston University Questrom School of Business and the founder of the Human Resources Policy Institute, the predecessor to today’s Institute for Leadership & Work. His decades of leadership and pioneering work establishing one of the nation’s foremost forums connecting business leaders and scholars provide invaluable perspective as the Institute enters its next phase.

Joining him is Siobhan O’Mahony, Feld Family Professor in Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Chair of the Department of Management & Organizations, and a nationally recognized scholar whose work explores innovation, collaboration, and the changing nature of work and organizations.

Together, Fred and Siobhan bring complementary expertise and a shared commitment to advancing the Institute’s mission. As Interim Co-Directors, they will focus on ensuring the successful planning and delivery of the upcoming Fall Summit, advancing the early implementation of the Institute’s newly launched engagement model, and leading the process to identify the Institute’s next permanent leadership team.
