Visiting Researcher

My name is Xuesheng Huang, a professor at the School of Marxism, Sun Yat-sen University, Guangzhou, China.

In recent years, I have published 3 books and nearly 60 research papers. Most of my work focuses on the topics related to the Enlightenment and its relationship with German Classical Philosophy and Marx’s Philosophy, such as their respective theoretical and practical philosophy, political thoughts, etc., and their interrelationships. My current project is related to these main areas: (i) the Enlightenment project of justifying morality; (ii) the relationship between Marx and Hegel’s ethical ideas; (iii) the ethical thought of Capital and its Manuscripts.

My stay in Boston is funded by the China Scholarship Council (CSC), and I’ll be a Visiting Researcher at Boston University from Oct 2024 to Sep 2025, working under the scientific supervision of Prof. Sally Sedgwick.
