Areas of interest: Philosophy of Language, Social Philosophy, Phenomenology, Political Philosophy
Bio: Rose studies theories of meaning, reciprocity, and our practices of conversation. Drawing on such thinkers as Davidson, Wittgenstein, Arendt, and Buber, she examines the role of intersubjective relationships in how meaning is constituted. She is also fascinated with accounts of metaphor and figurative speech as case studies for theories of meaning. On the weekends Rose writes poetry, takes up odd projects (currently furniture repair), and searches out strange children’s picture books.
