The BU Center for Career Development will be hosting their Spring 2021 University-Wide Virtual Career Fair on Friday, March 5 from 9am to 3pm. Edwin J. Delattre (1941 – 2019)

The philosophy department mourns the recent death of Edwin J. Delattre. Ed retired from Boston University in 2006 and was named Professor of Philosophy Emeritus as well as Dean of the School of Education Emeritus. For a moving account of his extraordinary accomplishments and life, please see here.

Congratulations to I-Kai Jeng, who is winner of the 2017 Dissertation Essay Competition sponsored by the Philosophy Education Society, the publisher of The Review of Metaphysics. Dr. Jeng was chosen for his entry, “On the Final Definition of the Sophist: Sophist 265a10-268b5,” drawn from the dissertation he wrote under the direction of Professor David Roochnik.
