UPA Wins Giving Day Donation Challenge, Raises $5k+ for Student Activities

The Department would like to extend hearty congratulations to the Undergraduate Philosophy Association (UPA) for their spirited fundraising efforts this 2023 Giving Day, which found them lauded across campus and $5,000+ dollars richer. The UPA ended up topping the ‘Student Clubs & Organizations’ category, which netted them a bonus $1,000 on top of their already significant 214 individual donations.

The UPA, which was re-established in 2021, is currently preparing for their first ever Guest Lecture, which will feature Professor Elise Woodard (MIT) giving a talk entitled “Epistemic Criticism and Atonement”. The event is set to take place at 4pm on Friday, April 21st in STH B19. The current UPA President is undergraduate Alexandra Mascarello, and the Communications Director/Head of Fundraising is undergraduate David Winner—be sure to congratulate them and the other members of the UPA on their fundraising victory!
