Department Welcomes Visiting Scholar Mario Farina (Università IUAV Venezia)
This week, the Department of Philosophy welcomes Visiting Scholar Mario Farina (Università IUAV Venezia) to continue his research, make use of our academic resources, and work with our community. Writes Chair Sally Sedgwick:
“A Visiting Scholar from Venice, Italy will soon be in our midst. Professor Mario Farina is Assistant Professor of Aesthetics at the Università IUAV – Venezia. He is a specialist in classical German philosophy, in Aesthetics, Critical Theory (especially Adorno) and the Philosophy of Literature. He is presently working on a monograph on the aesthetic theories of Kant and Hegel. Professor Farina has held Visiting Scholar positions at the Universität Frankfurt (2016) and at the University of Dublin (2019). He is the author of many articles and of four books:
2015 Critica, simbolo e storia. La determinazione hegeliana dell’estetica [Critique, Symbol and History. Hegel’s Determination of Art], Ets, Pisa.
