Peter Singer To Deliver Free Lecture At BU Next Friday
Peter Singer on Animal Liberation
Friday, April 26th at 7:30pm
Morse Auditorium, Boston University
602 Commonwealth Avenue, Boston, MA 02215
Princeton bioethics professor Peter Singer will be giving a free presentation at Boston University on Friday, April 26th. Described as the “world’s most influential living philosopher” by The New Yorker, Singer’s work on animal ethics, poverty, altruism, and utilitarianism are some of the most thought-provoking and engaging texts of the modern era.
Sponsored by thirteen groups at Boston University, as well as its Philosophy Department, this event will focus on food production and agriculture. It’s nearly 40 years since Peter Singer first published an article in The New York Review of Books under the heading “Animal Liberation.” How much progress have we made since then, and what are the lessons to be drawn from that struggle? Where are we today, and where can we hope to be in another 40 years?
The event will be held at Morse Auditorium which seats 450 – the lecture is free and open to the public with no reserved seating.
