Allen Speight was a Berlin Prize Fellow of the American Academy in Berlin during Spring Semester of 2003. As a residential fellow at the Hans Arnhold Center, he pursued research on projects in Hegel and the philosophy of action, gave a Berlin Prize lecture on “Agency, Tragedy and Forgiveness: The Narrative Shape of Hegelian Ethics,” and lectured at the Universities of Potsdam and Jena. The Berlin Prize is a competitive fellowship awarded by the American Academy.
