Biography

Young M. Park is a lecturer in the School of Law’s Transactional Law Program. Ms. Park received her JD from the School of Law in 2000. While a law student, she was a member of the American Journal of Law & Medicine. Ms. Park is currently a counsel at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom in Boston. Ms. Park received her AB from Princeton University.

Ms. Park’s legal practice emphasizes executive compensation and employee benefits matters, particularly in the context of mergers and acquisitions, public offerings and other corporate restructurings. Both in the transactional context and otherwise, Ms. Park also regularly counsels a broad range of clients, including large public companies, on matters relating to tax planning, securities laws and corporate governance, with emphasis on tax planning with respect to the treatment of deferred compensation arrangements, the excise tax applicable to so-called golden parachute payments and the limitations applicable to the tax deductibility of executive compensation. Ms. Park also focuses on the planning, drafting and negotiation of a wide variety of executive compensation arrangements, such as employment and severance agreements and equity and cash compensation plans and arrangements.

During the School of Law’s 2012–13 academic year, Ms. Park was an instructor in the School of Law’s First Year Writing Program.
