Biography
Rachel Rosenberg joins BU Law as a Lecturer to co-teach the Mental Health Litigation Practicum. Rachel began her career in public service by representing court-involved students in school discipline and special education matters as a Skadden Fellow at the EdLaw Project. She then joined the Public Defender Division of the Committee for Public Counsel Services (CPCS) and zealously represented adults facing criminal charges in the Salem, Lynn, Gloucester, and Peabody District Courts. In 2015, Rachel transferred to the Roxbury office where she represented clients facing criminal charges in the Roxbury, West Roxbury, and Dorchester divisions of the Boston Municipal Court (BMC) and developed a specialty representing clients with significant mental health needs in the BMC’s Mental Health Specialty Courts. Rachel then transitioned to the CPCS Mental Health Litigation Division and defended clients facing civil commitment and involuntary treatment orders. She is now an Assistant General Counsel at the Massachusetts Executive Office of Health and Human Services. Rachel is a graduate of Harvard Law School.
