John Buchman
Biography
John Buchman is a member of the adjunct faculty at USC’s Gould School of Law where he has co-taught a Financial Regulation course since 2019. John has also been a member of the faculty of Banking Law Fundamentals (f/k/a Banking Law Basics), a 2-1/2 day banking law program, since 2011. Previously, John taught Banking Law (1991 to 2015) and a Dodd-Frank Act seminar course (2008-2012) at GW Law School in Washington, DC. Prior to his retirement from full-time legal work in 2024, John worked for Charles Schwab & Co., Inc., General Electric Capital Corp., and E*TRADE Bank, where he served as Vice President, General Counsel, and Corporate Secretary from 2000 to 2013. John received a degree in International Economics from the Georgetown University School of Foreign Service and his J.D. from Harvard Law School.
