In June 2015, the Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS) was upgraded to revise the look and data contained on the Form I-20 for F-1 students.

All students in continuing F-1 status will be required to have an updated version I-20 before July 1, 2016. Changes were also made to the Form I-20 for F-2 dependents. Over the course of this school year, the ISSO will be issuing new version I-20s to all continuing F-1 students and their F-2 dependents:

Boston University ISSO has been actively issuing new version I-20s since last summer, but we want to make sure all BU students have the new form before it becomes required.

RESPONSE REQUIRED: In order to identify whether you need a new version I-20 at this time, please check your most recent Form I-20 and complete our on-line questionnaire no later than Friday, February 5. Please respond whether or not you have (or need) a new version form, so that we know that you are in compliance before the deadline.

ISSO staff will begin to reissue new version I-20s for all students who still need them this coming week, and will let you know when your new version form is ready for pick up.
