Membership provides you with access to our all of our extraordinary facilities, membership services,  a discounted rate for our wide variety of exciting recreation classes and family programming. We also have locker rooms and saunas that are reserved exclusively for faculty/staff use only for added privacy and comfort. In addition, Boston University’s Blue Cross Blue Shield health care options include an annual fitness benefit that provides a $150 rebate towards the cost of your membership. Eligibility

• All full-time faculty/staff, as recognized by the Charles River and Medical Campus Human Resources departments are eligible for faculty/staff membership. FitRec receives fac/staff status directly from a nightly data download from BU Human Resources.
• Additional BU affiliations eligible for faculty/staff membership include; Emerita Professor, Emeritus Professor, Retired Employee, and Trustees. Please email fitrec@bu.edu with proof of status and fac/staff affiliation can be added to your account, allowing you to purchase at the fac/staff level. If you do not have a FitRec account, you will need to create one first.
• Other certain BU Affiliate groups may also qualify for faculty/staff membership. Please visit our Affiliate Groups page for a list of groups and further instructions.

6-Month Recurring Plans

6-Month recurring memberships have no initiation fee and represent a roughly 15% savings over the cost of monthly membership. 6-month recurring plans also include access to fall/spring Drop-In classes (formerly FitPass). This membership automatically renews every July 1 and January 1 until cancellation is requested via our online form. The 6-Month Recurring membership option is available during open enrollment periods only.

¹Most primary Fac/Staff members can use their BUID to access the building. Some affiliated groups who do not possess BUIDs will need to purchase a FitRec ID. All spouse members and dependent members age 16 or older are required to have a FitRec ID in order to access the building.

Monthly Recurring Plans

This is a monthly membership that becomes active immediately at time of purchase. There will be a reoccurring charge on the first of each month until membership is cancelled via our online form. Cancellation request deadline is the 25th of the month to stop billing for the following month.

Full-time BU Faculty/Staff members hired within the last 30 days can receive a complimentary 30-day membership by emailing perdmbsg@bu.edu with proof of hire date. This offer extends to first-time hires of BU for compensated positions only. Certain casual/temporary positions are eligible for membership at the Faculty/Staff level but are not eligible for the complimentary 30-day trial.

¹First month price will prorate automatically based on the day of purchase. Following months will bill at the full monthly amount.
