Dean Dr. Jason Campbell-Foster is an experienced leader in student affairs with over two decades of expertise in higher education management. As the Dean of Students at Boston University, Dean Campbell-Foster or affectionally known as “Dean JCF” serves as the senior student affairs officer, spearheading the Division of Student Affairs, which is responsible for curating a vibrant residential experience for Boston University students.

Dean JCF and his team engage regularly with students to understand their experiences, advocate for the removal of barriers to their success, and introduce transformative initiatives to increase their sense of belonging and preparedness to lead in our global society. Dean JCF’s portfolio includes Residence Life, the Howard Thurman Center for Common Ground, the LGBTQIA+ Student Resource Center, Orientation, Parent & Family Programs, Student Activities, Disability & Access Services, Judicial Affairs and the Community Service Center.

Dean Campbell-Foster has served on regional and national leadership boards for professional organizations and regularly contributes to professional development opportunities for colleagues in the field of student affairs. The Dean is passionate about creating opportunities for staff to explore their passions, create change, and engage in legacy leaving work.

A native of Buffalo, New York, Dean JCF earned his BA in English from the State University of New York at Fredonia, a Masters in College Student Personnel Administration from Canisius College, and his Doctor of Education from Northeastern University. As a doctoral student, Dean JCF focused his dissertation research on LGBTQIA+ student activism in digital communities. His professional interests also include supporting learners who have experienced the foster care system, innovation in student affairs, and higher education law and policy.
