Eat with the Seasons with a Veggie Box Subscription!

Delicious heirloom tomatoes, crisp salad greens, tender tasty carrots…these are just a few of the many exciting vegetables that members will find in the weekly CSA veggie box.

After a two-year hiatus, BU Dining is thrilled to reintroduce a CSA veggie box program with a new farm partner, Meadow’s Mirth located in Brentwood, New Hampshire. BU is Meadow’s Mirth’s first collegiate pickup location! Our initial pilot will run through the fall semester; the program will be extended based on participant feedback.

In addition to being packed with wonderful local produce, each veggie box gives back to the BU community. For every box ordered for pickup at BU, a $2 contribution is matched by Meadows Mirth, generating $4 worth of fresh local vegetables for the BU Food Pantry. As participation at BU grows, the weekly pantry donation will grow with it. Any donated produce not used by the BU Food Pantry will be distributed to Boston-area community members in need in partnership with Student Food Rescue. These donations build on an existing donation program that has already provided more than 7,000 pounds of fresh produce to local food-access organizations this year.

This partnership brings together several parts of sustainability: strengthening the regional farm economy, making seasonal food more accessible through a shared campus pickup, helping people make practical use of what they receive, and directing fresh produce to BU students experiencing food insecurity.

This gives customers greater variety while creating a dependable market for multiple local farms.
