Dining Points Policy Update

Why is this change being enacted?
This change is being enacted due to the launch of the university’s new Student Information System (SIS). The new system no longer supports the ability to track and process Dining Point refunds. Additionally, the number of students requesting these refunds has significantly declined in recent years.

What if I have unused dining points at the end of the academic year?
All Meal Plans will be made inactive at the end of the academic year. Any unused Dining Points remaining at that time will be forfeited.

What if I leave the University at the end of the fall semester?
If you leave the University at the end of the fall semester—whether due to graduation, study abroad, or participation in a one-semester program—your Meal Plan will be made inactive. Any remaining Dining Points will be forfeited at that time.

Will my Dining Points carry over from fall to spring if I stay enrolled?
Yes. If you remain enrolled and your Meal Plan continues into the spring semester, any unused Dining Points from the fall will carry over and be added to your spring allotment of Dining Points.

What if I need to take mid-semester leave?

  • If you withdraw or take a leave of absence within the first five weeks of the semester, you will receive a pro-rated refund based on the cost of the meal plan and the number of days remaining in the semester.  There will be no dining point refund, the prorated refund will cover the whole cost.
  • If you leave after the first five weeks, you will not receive a refund for any unused meals or Dining Points.

What if I have one of the Campus Connector Plans?

The same policies outlined above for Meal Plans also apply to Campus Connector Plans. Missed or unused meals and Convenience Points will not be refunded at the end of the academic year, if the plan is canceled, or you leave at the end of the fall semester (graduation, study abroad, etc.). If you remain enrolled from the fall semester and your Campus Connector Plan continues into the spring semester, any unused meals and Convenience Points will carry over to be added to your spring allotment.

What if I have Convenience Points purchased separately from the Connector Plans?

Convenience Points purchased separately will be refunded if the balance is $20 or over, this is typically done when student graduates or leaves the university.
