Teresa Baker (Mandan/Hidatsa) creates abstracted landscapes through a mixed media practice that combines natural and artificial materials, exploring space, movement, perception, and identity through the lens of her Mandan/Hidatsa heritage. She has exhibited widely, including solo shows at The American Academy of Arts and Letters, COMA Gallery, and Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art, and group exhibitions such as Prospect.6 and Made in LA at the Hammer Museum.
A 2025 Guggenheim Fellow, Baker is featured in An Indigenous Present at ICA Boston (October 9, 2025 – March 8, 2026), a thematic exhibition spanning 100 years of contemporary Indigenous art, co-organized by artist Jeffrey Gibson and independent curator Jenelle Porter.
