Background
Samrana Bertrand received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Media with a Minor in Politics and Government from the University of Hartford. She then went on to work as an Assistant Residence Director at Emerson College Los Angeles for two years and after that, received her Master of Education degree from Suffolk University.
ADRC Role
Samrana serves as the Program Manager for the Boston University Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center (ADRC). Her role involves assisting the Outreach, Recruitment, and Engagement (ORE) Core leadership to facilitate the recruitment and retention of research participants through community engagement and collaboration with other organizations. She oversees the daily operations of the ORE core and Research Education Component (REC). She also works closely with the Clinical Core, as well as individual Study Coordinators, using recruitment strategies that will aid them in meeting their recruitment goals, such as organizing outreach events to underrepresented communities in and around Boston
