Bio

Rachael Layden completed her undergraduate degree in Psychology and Neuroscience at Providence College in May 2023. She worked as a research assistant and later lab manager for the Neuroscience and Animal Cognition Lab at Providence College under Dr. Victoria Templer for all four years of undergrad. Her research focused on context dependent renewal of previously extinguished memories in aged rats. She joined the Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center (ARDC) and CTE Center at Boston University School of Medicine in June 2023. Rachael is now a research assistant for the Clinical Core of the Boston University Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center (ADRC). She is responsible for recruiting and scheduling participants for various clinical studies including the Health Outreach Program for the Elderly (HOPE) study, the Study of Axonal and Vascular Effects from repetitive head impacts (SAVE), and the Tau Agent for the NeurodeGenerative Lesion of CTE (TANGLE) study. Rachael works primarily with the repetitive head injury cohort where she facilitates the screening, interviews, neuropsychological assessments, and study visits of participants.
