Nicholas Parise

Nicholas received a Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience from the University of Southern California in 2024. During his undergraduate education, he gained clinical and research experience at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, where he volunteered as a scribe in the Pediatric Surgery Clinic and contributed to Emergency Department research, investigating headaches and brain imaging among pediatric patients.

Following graduation, he pursued a Master of Science in Medical Sciences at Boston University, where he conducted research at the BU CTE Center under Dr. Jesse Mez. His graduate research focused on the relationship between repetitive head impacts, duration of soccer participation, and chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE) in former soccer players. His broader research interests include neurodegenerative disease, traumatic brain injury, and epilepsy.

Nicholas currently works full-time at the BU CTE Center, where he contributes to research investigating CTE and other neurodegenerative diseases. His responsibilities include conducting retrospective interviews with informants of brain donors and supporting brain donation efforts through the UNITE Brain Bank. He plans to attend medical school.
