Bio

Mariah holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of New Hampshire and a Master of Arts in Psychology from Brandeis University. She was an undergraduate research assistant within the Brain Sciences and Cognitive Neuroscience Lab where she assisted with longitudinal research on Parkinson’s disease. Additionally, Mariah completed her undergraduate clinical internship at the Krempels Brain Injury Center, a post-neurorehabilitation community center for traumatic brain injury survivors. Her clinical experience includes working as a mental health case manager serving the psycho-bio-social needs of clients from a diverse spectrum of psychiatric illnesses. Before joining the BU CTE Center, Mariah worked as a research assistant at the Department of Veterans Affairs.

As the clinical research coordinator of the BU Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center’s Memory and Aging Clinic, Mariah coordinates all elements of clinical patient care, including facilitating recruitment, conducting clinical screenings, coordinating neuroimaging, overseeing on-site patient visits, and collaborating with Boston Medical Center. She also assists with the Health Outreach Program for the Elderly (HOPE) research study where she administers neuropsychological assessments.

Mariah’s research interests are centered around understanding the neurobiological mechanisms of progressive neurodegenerative diseases such as CTE and Alzheimers.
