Bio

Madelyn graduated from Lafayette College in May 2025 with a Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience and a minor in Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies. During her undergraduate career, she conducted research with Dr. Tamara Stawicki investigating hair cell death in zebrafish to better understand the mechanisms behind human hearing loss. Her senior thesis focused on the role of endoplasmic reticulum stress in hair cell death in cilia gene mutants. She also completed summer internships examining healthcare barriers faced by unhoused persons and the benefits of community care for those experiencing psychiatric emergencies.
She is interested in understanding how head injuries alter the brain at a molecular level, contributing to the degeneration seen in patients with CTE.
