Bio
Caroline Burke graduated from Smith College in 2024 with a B.A. in Neuroscience and Psychology. As an undergraduate, she conducted research in Dr. Sharon Owino’s laboratory studying orphan G protein-coupled receptor 37 (GPR37) and completed her honors thesis exploring GPR37’s role in regulating hippocampal granule cell neuron maturation.
Caroline joined the Boston University CTE Center and the National PTSD Brain Bank in 2025 as a Neuropathology Research Assistant. Her work incorporates histological and molecular techniques to investigate the mechanisms underlying neurodegenerative disease and deepen our understanding of disease processes. She recognizes the generosity of brain donors and their families and is honored to contribute to research that advances our understanding of neurodegeneration.
