Arsal received a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences with a minor in Psychology at the University of Connecticut in May 2019. During his time at UConn, he worked in the Salamone neuropsychopharmacology lab studying motivational impairments in depression and other related disorders. His undergraduate research experience helped build his interest in studying behavioral neuroscience and neurodegenerative diseases. He joined the VA-BU-CLF CTE Center in August of 2019 as the Health Science Specialist and plans to apply to medical school.
Arsal’s research interests include the potential genetic predispositions and treatments of CTE and other neurodegenerative diseases. He is also interested in the clinical and neuropathological features that are produced by traumatic brain injuries and blast exposure in Veterans.
