Who do I contact for facilities-related issues in my space?
For faculty and staff on the CRC, your area manager is your first point of contact for all cleaning and maintenance services. On the Medical Campus, please contact the Control Center at 617-358-4144 or your department administrator and they will be able to identify the requestor for your department.
Students should contact their RA or Residence Life Office.
Residential and commercial tenants of BU Real Estate, including SIS Properties and properties not managed by Facilities Management & Operations, should contact Real Estate directly with any maintenance concerns at (617-353-4102). For more information, visit the Real Estate maintenance page.
Who do I contact if my space is too hot or too cold?
Please contact the Operations & Service Center at 617-353-2105 if you are on the Charles River Campus or Fenway Campus, or the Control Center at 617-358-4144 if they are on the Medical Campus.
Who do I contact if I need waste or recycling removed?
Contact your area manager for low-volume removal or the Facilities Operations & Service Center at 617-353-2105.
For high-volume, or off-hour removal, on the Charles River or Fenway Campuses, contact the Facilities Operations & Service Center at 617-353-2105. On the Medical Campus, please contact the Control Center at 617-358-4144. How do I request additional cleaning services?
On the Charles River or Fenway campuses, your area manager is your main point of contact for all cleaning and maintenance services.

How do I change or cancel my service request?
On the Charles River or Fenway Campuses, contact the Facilities Operations & Service Center at 617-353-2105. On the Medical Campus, please contact the Control Center at 617-358-4144. Have your work order number, or FSR number, in hand.
How do I request Facilities Management & Operations assistance for an event set up and how much will it cost?

How do I request a space change/use change?
The PM Web Portfolio Manager for your department should submit a request through PM Web. Contact your department administrator to identify your portfolio manager. Additionally, you can contact ithelp@bu.edu so they can route your request appropriately.
What products are provided by Facilities Management & Operations?
Essential products are provided by our department, such as menstrual products, toilet paper, soap, paper towels, hand sanitizer, and filters for bottle-fill stations. In classrooms, chalk, dry-erase markers, and erasers are provided.
What does Facilities Management & Operations pay for? What is the department responsible for?
Facilities pays for building maintenance, infrastructure, and cleaning. We do not provide furniture, special cleaning, or new additions to your space. If you are seeking these types of improvements to your space, please coordinate with your departmental administrator.
How do I request a new key for my space?
For faculty and staff, please put in a request through CAMMS via your department requestor.
For students, report lost or stolen keys to the Residence Life office for your area, your resident assistant, or the resident assistant on call. Visit this page to learn more.
How do I request card access to a space?
Faculty and staff should contact their department administrators. Additionally, you may contact the Building & Security Systems team with any questions.
What do I do if I get locked out?
Faculty and staff should call the Operations & Service Center at 617-353-2105 if you are on the Charles River Campus or Fenway Campus, or the Control Center at 617-358-4144 if you are on the Medical Campus

What can I do to prevent pest infestations?
- Avoid leaving food out at night.
- Don’t leave dishes in the sink overnight.
- Keep your space tidy, and empty trash frequently.
- Don’t prop open outer doors for long periods.
What should I do if I have a pest problem?
Call the Operations & Services Center at 617-353-2105 if you are on the Charles River Campus or the Fenway Campus, or the Control Center at 617-358-4144 if you are on the Medical Campus. Here’s how to prepare for a pest management professional to visit your space:
- If you suspect an insect problem, please remove everything from your kitchen cabinets because it is easier for a pest management professional to inspect the space when it is cleaned out.
- If you suspect you have a rodent problem, please move everything a foot away from the wall so pest management professionals can check for entry points and set appropriate traps.
If possible, please be present when the pest management professional comes so you can describe what you’ve seen and ask any pertinent questions.
Project Requests
How do I find out about projects happening on campus?

How do I get an estimate for my project?
The PM Web Portfolio Manager for your department should submit a project request through PM Web. Contact your department administrator to identify your portfolio manager.
How do I make a renovation request?
Requests can be submitted via the University’s project management system, PMWeb. Training opportunities for requestors and approvers are available. For a schedule of trainings or to learn more about our project management system, please contact ithelp@bu.edu.
Requests should convey the preliminary project details, requested scope of work, and the anticipated funding source and help inform how the project may be staffed and organized. Projects will require approval from the President’s Committee on Space Planning & Capital Expenditures (SPACE) or its Operations Sub-committee (sub-SPACE) if they meet certain guidelines.
