Analytical Core
Core Overview
The Analytical Core is a cost-recovery center situated in the Boston University Department of Chemistry, on the Charles River Campus. We provide chemistry support for small molecule drug discovery research, from chemical screens to hit-to-lead optimization.
We offer a variety of resources and services to both biologists and chemists, including:
- Walkup instrumentation for small molecule synthesis and analysis (NMR, LC/MS, microwave)
- Service-based LC/MS analysis
- Access to small molecules for biological assays, formatted as screening libraries or as individual “cherry-picked” compounds
- Curation and distribution services for synthetic organic chemists
- Small molecule purification services
- Fee-for-service synthesis (medicinal chemistry and/or scaleup) for biological collaborators
The Analytical Core is closely integrated with the Boston University Center for Molecular Discovery (BU-CMD), providing additional avenues for collaborative research.
