Make an Appointment with the CCD
Log in to Handshake using your BU credentials. Head to ‘Career center’ -> ‘Appointments’ -> ‘Schedule A New Appointment’ -> Choose the Career Community/category that fits your needs. Follow the prompts to select a date/time that works best for you. Complete the required questions about your preferred appointment medium and what we can help you with, and then click the “Request” button.

What does the Career Success Coach help with?
The coach supports CDS students with career planning, resumes and cover letters, internship and job-search strategy, interview prep, and networking — whether you're after a first internship or a post-graduation role.
How do I schedule an appointment?

Handshake, BU's online career hub.
What can I do to prepare before we meet?
Browse the
Getting Started resources for guides on resumes, CVs, and cover letters, and come in with a draft or a specific goal so we can make the most of your time.

Can I get funding to attend a conference or workshop?
Yes. The
CDS Career Development Fund offers travel grants of up to $500 per student per experience. Apply at least 30 days before the event (
application here) — funding is rolling and limited, so apply early, and submit reimbursements within 30 days.
How do I protect myself from job-search scams?
Job scams are rising fast. Verify every posting on the employer's official site, never pay to apply, and don't share personal or financial info until you've confirmed the employer — and remember that BU professors will never email you a job offer for a role you didn't apply to. See our
