Current Research:

Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a neurodevelopmental disorder characterized by three core features: impairments in social interaction, difficulties with communication, and the presence of restricted interests and repetitive behaviors. One gene that has been strongly associated with ASD is UBE3A, whose expression is tightly regulated during brain development. I am currently conducting research in Dr. Man’s lab investigating a UBE3A rescue strategy in the context of ASD. The central focus of my study is to determine whether restoring UBE3A expression specifically in excitatory neurons can rescue ASD-related phenotypes.
