The Biology Department at Boston University is currently accepting applications from postdoctoral researchers for its Emerging Scholars in Global Change Biology event, taking place on March 25th & 26th, 2024.

This event, funded by BU’s Office of Diversity and Inclusion, aims to identify and establish relationships with the today’s emerging scholars from backgrounds underrepresented in biology.

The event will give scholars the opportunity to present their work, network with BU faculty, postdocs, and students, and become acquainted with our vibrant department, university, and city. We aim to promote the transition of the scholars to successful faculty positions at BU or elsewhere.

In addition to giving a seminar and networking with members of the BU Biology community, scholars will participate in two workshops covering the processes of 1) applying for a faculty job and 2) starting an independent research group.

The event will host six candidates, two from each of our department’s three major research areas: Cell & Molecular Biology; Ecology, Behavior & Evolution, and Neurobiology.

Funding

Invited scholars will have all travel-associated expenses and lodging covered, and will receive a $250 honorarium.

The event will take place March 25th & 26th, 2024.
